BRIGHTON BABYLON'S TOP ATTRACTIONS IN THE CITY...GET READY
I have something to say about the best restaurant on the
seafront and in time alot more to say about the worst in the
city right here on the BRIGHTON BABYLON Wejit site 'Top
Attractions' in Brighton. These entries are sometimes posted
to my other blogs and network profiles so it's time the city
and the council thought about shifting its lard arse further
yet into gear. Lazy gets what lazy can reach and greedy
gets gout.

Right readers...I know that you are slow to partake in this new app. Sales of the paperback and Kindle continue to grow steadily in both bookshops and online and cannot yet be refelcted in activity here but I still see this as a great forum for communication.
In the book the actress asks me what I think of the fare at Al Fresco's, the art deco restaurant that sits beautifully on the seafront overlooking Wet Pie. I didn't have much to say then about the quality of the food or the size of the lobster on offer. Well...in TOP ATTRACTIONS I can easily say that, after changing hands a few years ago, Al Fresco offers probably the best food and views across the Channel and on to Wet Pie who still sits there like a 'Metal Marilyn'. Frau and I enjoyed a birthday meal there recently and even a little photoshoot of the book's cover (you can view those and tens of pics of the book around the world on its Facebook Page @ https://www.facebook.com/BrightonBabylon).
So things change and Al Fresco is certainly a top spot for food, drink and open views of all things comedy and drama on this south coast. Used by all the city's lovely set and wide eyed tourists...you'll even spot a clutch of famous authors who sit and soak up surf city energies over scrummy lobster lunch. BTW...the size of that particular crustacea has some way to go to catch up to the mammoth beasts caught in Canadian or USA waters!
Drop in on Al Fresco and tell the PJ and Brighton Babylon sent you. If you care to know where NOT to eat or visit...just ask. ;)

TVI: MAD GODS AND ENGLISHMEN~IAN ARMER MAKES MOVIE
Write stuff: Ian Armer is planning to co-direct and produce a �6m film, having written and published the script
Ian Armer is on the verge of achieving a 20-year dream.
The father-of-one, who grew up in Walton-le-Dale, has secured funding for a £6million film starring Hollywood actors, and he has had his first novel professionally published.
“It’s a little miracle”, said the 37-year-old. “It’s a dream come true because this is what I’ve wanted to do since my teens.”
Ian has written the film, called The Other Side of Love - about star crossed lovers - with his partner, Amanda Webster.
By presenting the scripts to a foreign financier, he has managed to secure 85 per cent of the budget needed, and he’s also landed stars including Stephen Marcus from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Michael Hurst of Hercules and Xena: Warrior Princess fame, as well as US singer Vicky Martinez and former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan.
Ian said: “We’ve managed to get some big name stars by approaching their agents, and I’ve also got producers on board who have worked on the likes of Dr Who and the Count of Monte Cristo. It’s the real thing.
“It’s been incredibly difficult to get the money in, but the film is definitely going to happen, we just need to secure the other 15 per cent of the budget and we can get shooting.
“I’m hoping that’s going to be around August time and I want it to be in locations around Preston, Lytham and Manchester.”
He added: “Making films is all about business deals at the beginning, there’s very little creativity until you get to the shoot.”
Ian, who has directed a cult adult film nominated for the BBC Audience Award at the 2006 Manchester Commonwealth Film Festival, began writing at the age of five, when he would make up comic strips for his toys.
As a teenager he progressed to writing for various guide books and music industry periodicals, as well as scripts for corporate videos.
He said: “I’ve done countless awful jobs between working on my writing, but I’m getting there now. It’s something that feels natural, like it’s what I should be doing.”
Ian’s other professional goal was to have a book published, something that was achieved early this year with the release of 128 page novella Mad God’s and Englishmen- a humourous tale about a worn-out detective.
The book has already been a top 10 best-seller on Amazon.com in the science fiction short stories category.
